Ever wonder what an NFL field prep team does?

I was at a conference at Invesco field this week and Sunday is the home opener for the Denver Broncos. We were given access to the field and I watched it go from all green to a nearly finished, neatly painted official NFL playing field. Amazing what these guys do here. They mow the grass every day and paint the field every week before a home game. It takes about 3 days to completely paint the Broncos logos, yard lines, and hash marks. A referee must also inspect the lines down to about 1/8th of an inch for regulation play. Here are a few pictures of the transition.

Patriots do it again

new-england-patriots.jpgI’ve really enjoyed the football season this year. The games I’ve watched have been really close nailbiters. The postseason is no exception. I’ve been paying particular attention to the team of my youth, the New England Patriots. While I was growing up in Maine they were horrible, with the only exception being the year they were slightly less horrible getting trounced by the Bears and the infamous “Refrigerator” Perry. It’s been fun watching a consistently great team year after year during this first decade of the 21st century.

I must say I am equally excited to see the Titans who, even though they came up short, ended the last half of the season playing very well and the promise of Vince Young should keep ticket sales up again next year.
