Catch the latest release of Firefox. Version 2.0 just came out and it is a few leaps over its predecessor. The first thing you'll see is and change to the tabs. Now there is an X to close it (if you aren't into the CTRL-T and CTRL-W keystrokes, this is a nice add). The button images are updated too.
One of my favorite add-on extensions to Firefox is FireFTP. This is a neat FTP program that operates as a new tab and allows you to save FTP account info for multiple servers. If you use FTP alot, this is a good way to go.
