This past week was a lot of fun as I got to participate in several GMA showcases. Saturday we rehearsed with the artists at TAG Distribution in Franklin.

Rehearsing with Noel McLeary - myspace

Rehearsal break with Heather Powers - myspace

Finally got to rehearse with Darrell Mansfield
There was a Saturday evening showcase for Noel at Rocketown. Many artists passed through the doors of Rocketown last week. Our performances were in support of Food for the Hungry, an organization dedicated to providing hope to the hopeless. Sunday was a great day with Heather Powers band playing at Rocketown. Noel played again at 12th and Porter. Monday night brought us all to Cafe Forte for a great set with many artists including a long set of Bryan Duncan and the NehoSoul band. They rocked the house. I got to perform with Bryan on a duet with Heather Powers that she wrote. Finally Tuesday night finished up with Noel at The Rutledge, a great place for live music.
Here are a few shots of us goofing around, doing this thing called music.

Both Heather and Noel are artists to watch for in the coming months. They are great songwriters and excellent singers. Keep and eye out for them.
Until next time…

In an effort to appease passengers, Southwest is trying something new. Or at least new for me. Weather delays in my arrival city caused a groung hold in Nashville. Since we`d already boarded, the attendants came on and said that anyone that wished to go back out to the concourse could do so, provided they didn`t go too far. They were expecting at least an hour delay. Well it turns out that the hour turned into only 10 minutes. So we waited even longer trying to round up the 20 or so folks who had left the plane. They were able to account for all but one guy. We sat and waited. The guy finally shows up to an almost angry crowd. Then we were on our way. At least they gave us an option. And it goes to show that no matter what you do, you`ll still have a few that will complain about anything.

Be in the Click

This has come to mean so many things. In the case of my drummer friend Glenn, who is a time freak, it can only mean one thing. Stay with the drummer, or face the discord. Some musicians have the clock internalized. It really reaches that critical juncture when the two paths diverge at the token fork in the road. Some take the road absent of time or that of self-time. Others recognize the cohesiveness of sticking together. As a bassman, locking time is a must. So, what do you say? Are you in the Click?
