I’ve been shooting emails and comments back and forth with Ally at supersimbo for a while. He has now been added to the Randy Elrod Inspired blogroll. Here’s what Ally has to say:
i began blogging after my brother and i hosted DOWNHERE a couple of years
ago. Upon their return home , we kept up to date with them via their website
but also via Jeremy’s blog and then Glenn’s blog. Jeremy’s blog was where i
discovered Randy Elrod and quickly i found a huge amount of blogs via his page.
I have consistantly read all of those first few blogs i discovered since i
started supersimbo……………so there are a few bloggers whose writing and
thoughts have inspired me to maintain supersimbo over the last 2 years.

Zillow is coming under fire for its Zestimates, a program that shows home values on its mapping website. I’ve noticed my own values seem to fluctuate a bit from time to time. Check out the Wall Street Journal article HERE.

This surprised me a little bit. Not that it’s bad. Perhaps I didn’t realize how big Bonnaroo is. Perhaps it is the name of the town which has a sister in England. Regardless, I am sure it will be a sold out performance. I just hope the crowd behaves. Sting and the guys are a cultured lot after all. It’s only an hour away. Perhaps I’ll go.

This year is already turning out to be a year where many bands are getting back together again. Besides the Police, who are going to be appearing on the Grammy’s this week, other bands to follow with tours this year include Genesis, Van Halen, Smashing Pumpkins, and Rage Against the Machine.
Genesis will most likely be the Collins, Rutherford, Banks trio, with the Chester Thompson and Daryl Stuermer filling their usual roles. Peter Gabriel has other solo plans in process and Steve Hackett

I never thought in my early days that I would be playing bass in church. Let me rephrase that: bass with an edge, in church. Wait: at a church in Franklin, TN. Hold it: bass at a church that has a live webcast each week that is viewed by upwards of 3000 people on any given Sunday from around the world. No, if you’d asked me then, I would have laughed at the idea.
I think if you think of church as some stodgy old place where people wear suits and carry around King James Bibles and say words like “thou” and “doest” and other such things, you may be thinking of the church that I used to think was church. Not so.
Take this last week for example. It was fun (it’s OK to say that about church?). I got to play with some of my good friends and some really great players. The Peoples Church in Franklin is a cool place to be yourself. Yeah, we rock out a little. Yeah, we sometimes wear non-traditional clothing like jeans and t-shirts. Yeah, some wear hair differently. Another Tennessee snowfall

You don`t have to live up north to get a good snowfall. A few days ago Spring Hill and vicinity got about two inches. This morning I woke to another wisping of snow and 23 deg F. Boy we could sure use some of that global warming everyone is talking about.
